The Mentor Caring Programme (MCP) is an important part of BNBU’s student support system. It mainly helps students, especially new students, make a smooth transition into university learning, campus life, and programme-specific study.
For Music Department students, first-year adjustment involves not only becoming familiar with university life, but also understanding the curriculum structure, practice rhythm, ensemble requirements, performance opportunities, and professional pathways of the Music Performance programme. Through the MCP, students receive support from teachers and senior students as they gradually integrate into the learning and artistic environment of the Music Department.
Within the MCP, Academic Mentors provide guidance on academic planning, course selection, programme learning, and academic adjustment. Peer Mentors, who are senior students, support new students through experience sharing and companionship, helping them understand campus life, coursework, practice planning, ensemble participation, and Music Department activities. Other mentors and faculty-level support staff may also provide further care, advice, or resource connection when needed.
Through the Mentor Caring Programme, the Music Department aims to help students establish a stable learning rhythm, a clearer understanding of their programme, and a stronger sense of belonging at the beginning of their university journey.
