On May 13, 2026, the award ceremony of the 7th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural and Creativity Design Competition and the launch ceremony of the 8th edition were grandly held at Zhuhai Broadcasting Studio in Zhuhai City, hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Zhuhai Municipal People’s Government.

The competition achieved wide-reaching influence and high levels of social participation, which received over a thousand main-track entries from 24 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) as well as Hong Kong and Macao, and more than ten thousand entries for the AI-themed track. Two teams from Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University’s (BNBU), School of Culture and Creativity, majoring in Culture, Creativity and Management stood out among thousands of entries and advanced to the final round of Cultural Heritage Creative Product Design Competition. These teams were the “Re-employment Team” (HUANG Kangwei and WU Qinhua) with their work “Innovative Interpretation and Communication Framework of Intangible Cultural Heritage IP — A Case Study of Foshan Woodblock New Year Prints” and the “BNBU Silly Team” (MAI Juncheng and ZHANG Siqi) with their work “Maritime Silk Road Adventure”. BNBU also received the Outstanding Organization Award for its excellent organizational efforts. The Culture, Creativity and Management program was invited to attend the ceremony, and the supervising instructor of the participating teams Ms. KK WAN Wanqi accepted the award on behalf of the university.

Since its launch, the 7th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural and Creativity Design Competition has drawn widespread attention and active participation from various sectors of society. The First-Class Inspector of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism WU Huaqin noted that the competition has been successfully held for seven editions with its brand influence continuing to grow. It has now become an important platform for the coordinated development of the cultural and creative industries in the Greater Bay Area and for international cultural exchanges, playing a significant role in supporting the construction of a high-level culture and tourism powerhouse and promoting the deep integration of culture and tourism in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao.
