[CCM Awards] Faculty and students from the Department of Cultural Creativity and Design clinched the championship in the 3rd Hengqin Tertiary Institution Students Conference Challenge

On May 22, 2026, the 3rd Hengqin Tertiary Institution Students Conference Challenge concluded successfully, with a team composed of Culture, Creativity and Management (CCM) Programme students Xie Siyu, Tang Zhiru, Tao Ze, and Public Relations and Advertising (PRA) Programme student Qian Jin, under the guidance of Ms. Wan Wanqi and Dr. Cai Danting, emerging victorious from nearly 40 teams across the Pearl River Delta. Their project, "2027 'Silver Age Competition' International Summit on Senior Esports in the Hengqin-Macao Zone," won the overall first prize. Furthermore, Xie Siyu was recognized as the Best Speaker for her excellent performance.

The 3rd Hengqin University Student Conference Planning Competition attracted 37 teams from eight institutions, including Sun Yat-sen University, Jinan University, South China Normal University, Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University, Zhuhai College of Science and Technology, Guangdong Technician College of Light Industry, Guangdong Polytechnic of Science and Technology, and Zhuhai City Polytechnic. After preliminary assessments, 10 teams advanced to the finals. Teams were challenged to plan a two-and-a-half-day international industry summit, adhering to real-world conference standards, and evaluated on creativity, feasibility, budget management, market promotion, and regional integration of Hengqin-Macao.

The proposal of our award-winning team, "2027 'Silver Age Competition' International Summit on Senior Esports in the Hengqin-Macao Zone", rooted in the "One Conference, Two Regions" development model of Hengqin-Macao, featured innovative ideas and strong practicality, earning unanimous praise from the panel of judges. This achievement clearly demonstrates our students' outstanding interdisciplinary practice capabilities and creative thinking.


The award-winning team members expressed their honor at winning the competition, thanking the organizing committee for providing a professional platform, the guidance from their instructors, and the teamwork among their peers. From conceptualizing the summit to designing agendas and executing plans, they diligently refined their project, gaining growth and experience from this practical endeavor. This honor serves as both recognition and motivation. Moving forward, they aim to continue exploring and innovating in conference planning, leveraging the strengths of Hengqin-Macao, boldly traversing interdisciplinary fields, and proceeding with passion.

Additionally, the team will be invited to participate in the 2026 ICCA Asia-Pacific Business Events Challenge and will head to Macau for the "2026 Macau College Student Conference Planning Competition" on September 5th, broadening their horizons and refining their skills on an international platform.
