Installation

Dimensions Variable

Supervisor: Dr. Allegra Yu SHANG

The installation uses a transparent box to symbolize an art museum, a wooden box to represent a storage room, and a movable wooden board to represent the minority culture. The audience stands in front of the transparent box, and the wooden board moves towards the wooden box, symbolizing resistance against being "artified"; when standing in front of the wooden box, the wooden board moves towards the transparent box, representing the desire for recognition but inability to belong; if there are both sides, they tremble and get stuck, metaphorically representing the culture being torn apart between the two definitions of power and always passively migrating.
