Scentuary is a media art project combining virtual reality with a wearable olfactory device. Using a programmable atomization module, it releases “trauma scent” and “healing scent” in sync with a VR narrative, guiding users through a safe process of exposure and reconstruction of traumatic memories. The device takes the form of a plaster ribcage wrapped in bandages and adorned with flowers, symbolizing vulnerability and renewal. The project explores the potential of scent as a sensory medium for healing and memory reconsolidation.
