This project takes the Yiwu Commodity Market as its core subject focuses on the goods symbols that are mass-produced and rapidly updated in the consumer society, aiming to deconstruct consumerism. Through calm visual documentation, it presents the process of the de-sacralization and disintegration of trendy aesthetics and identity symbols in the extreme industrialized production. The work concludes with the repeated display of vintage televisions, allowing the outdated medium and ephemeral consumer symbols to reflect each other, establishing a visual monument for these fleeting goods and prompting us to reflect on the hidden truth and meaning beneath the landscape.
