This research explores how character IPs provide psychological solace to young consumers. By comparing healing-style IPs (like Hello Kitty and Maltese Archive) with quirky-style IPs (like Labubu), the study deciphers the visual logic of comfort. Through semiotic analysis, it reveals how minimalist features and emotional blankness allow for personal projection, transforming merchandise into vessels for companionship and self- expression. Ultimately, “Healing by Design” demonstrates how strategic visual aesthetics bridge the gap between commercial products and the profound human need for emotional security and identity.
