In recent years, short video platforms have become the mainstream media consumption form for adolescents in daily life, exerting a profound impact on the behaviors of adolescents who are in the critical period of personality and value formation. Focusing on the two-way effects of short videos on adolescents' behaviors, this paper systematically sorts out the positive and negative effects in academic performance, attention, mental health, interest development, social interaction and offline behavior imitation, reveals the internal influence mechanism by combining literature research and questionnaire survey, and points out the limitations of current research in samples and methods. It aims to provide empirical references for family guidance, school education and platform governance, and promote the rational use of short videos among adolescents.
