What if future technologies could encode scent as digital information? This project starts from the widespread use of visual and auditory media, while scent remains rarely utilised. It also draws on the role of smell in nature, where it functions in communication, navigation, and memory. Based on this, the project explores how scent could be captured, translated into data, and reproduced in the future. VORA is a speculative biotechnology company imagined within this project. It proposes a system that transforms scent into units that can be stored, shared, and exchanged. A set of devices is designed for capturing and generating scent, alongside a digital platform for browsing, sharing, and trading scent assets. Through this platform, the project examines how people might engage with scent as data, forming new patterns of interaction, circulation, and value.
