I am FU Shaohang from the Class of 2024 of the MA in Communication program-- Film, TV & New Media Concentration (FTNM), School of Culture and Creativity.
As an industry "veteran" who came from the front line of production to BNBU's film and television production management, I joined the BNBU family in 2024 with a desire to learn from the film and television industry experience in the Greater Bay Area and overseas, as well as a yearning for a higher education platform, thus beginning my MAFTNM study journey. I chose BNBU because I am well aware that it brings together top-tier faculty from both domestic and international backgrounds, who not only possess profound academic achievements but also rich industry experience.
During this year, I delved deep into various aspects of new media film and television production management. Particularly in the field of screenwriting and promotion, I was fortunate to encounter several teachers with deep expertise. They not only taught me how to think from multiple dimensions as a producer, broadening my horizons, but also showed me how to align with international production practices, helping me expand my work into broader territories.
The study of communication theory was one of the most profound experiences of my time at BNBU. Under the guidance of teachers such as Ding Yi and Tsz Yuen LAI, I opened up a wider perspective, learned the essential concepts of media more deeply and rigorously, and gained systematic, cutting-edge knowledge of different theories. With the help of these systematic, diverse, profound, and forward-looking theories, I have developed a deeper understanding of my past and future production work. These experiences have had a profound impact on my subsequent career development.

During my studies at BNBU, I immersed myself in a strong academic atmosphere and warm humanistic care. My teachers generously imparted knowledge in class and opened their hearts after class, sharing their career experiences and life wisdom. The teaching assistants attended to every detail, helping us overcome academic difficulties while constantly paying attention to our emotional fluctuations and growth needs.
This learning ecosystem allowed me to seamlessly connect theoretical knowledge to practical operations, honing my courage to face challenges, my persistence in pursuing excellence, and my ability to collaborate with others.

Looking back on my time at BNBU, my heart is filled with immense gratitude and nostalgia. That place not only records my hard work, progress, and transformative growth but also carries my beautiful hopes for tomorrow. On the road ahead, whether it is full of thorns or blooming flowers, I will hold onto these precious memories and beliefs, forging ahead fearlessly.
