From Hengqin to Macau: THEM Students Carry Their Momentum to Macau, THEM Students Return with Honors from MICE Planning Competition

On September 13, the final of the "2025 Macau University Student Conference Event Planning Competition," hosted by the Macao Convention & Exhibition Association, successfully concluded at the Greenwich Meeting Room of The Londoner Macao, 2025. A total of 14 teams advanced to the finals, including 11 teams from Macau institutions and 3 representative teams from Zhuhai. As one of the teams representing Hengqin, the student team from the Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management (THEM) programme at Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU), was awarded the "Merit Award" for their outstanding planning and on-site performance.

This competition marked the THEM students' next cross-regional challenge following their third-place finish in the " Hengqin Tertiary Institution Students Conference Challenge." Facing intense competition, the THEM team responded with composure, enhancing their original proposal by incorporating self-designed merchandise and an animated IP image. This strategy further strengthened the event brand's personality and supporting experience, showcasing their excellent creativity and professionalism.



The finals venue was equipped with professional lighting and a large LED screen, creating an atmosphere that was both tense and exciting. The THEM team arrived a day early for rehearsal a smooth presentation flow. Despite it being their first time competing in a professional-grade venue, the team members delivered a fluent and complete presentation, handled the judges’ questions with poise, their performance earned unanimous recognition from those present.



The THEM team stated that winning the Merit Award is a significant encouragement for them. Through this valuable hands-on experience, they not only gained practical skills but also learned from the innovative concepts and presentation techniques of other teams. In the future, they will continue to refine their planning and presentation abilities, striving for a breakthrough in higher-level competitions.



The THEM programme at BNBU emphasizes the integration of theory and practice. By organizing students participation in cross-regional competitions, the programme effectively enhances their skills in planning and execution, cross-cultural communication, and teamwork. This award fully reflects the programme's success in cultivating innovative and practice-ready MICE talent, injecting new vitality into the MICE industry of the Greater Bay Area.
