LIN Yincheng, a final-year student in the Tourism, Hospitality and Event Management (THEM) programme at Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU), has recently received early-round admission offers for the Master of Science in International Hospitality Management from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and the Swiss Hotel Management School (SHMS). This accomplishment highlights the strong professional training and comprehensive development provided by the THEM programme.

During his studies, LIN Yincheng distinguished himself academically, receiving the Third Prize in the Greater Bay Area Tourism Academic Conference and winning multiple awards in conference challenges held in Hengqin and Macao. As a key member of the THEM academic society and a peer mentor in the Mentor Caring Programme (MCP), he was actively involved in both academic and practical activities, demonstrating strong organizational and communication skills.

When sharing his learning experience in THEM, he noted that the curriculum extends beyond traditional "service" training to include diverse subjects like marketing and strategic planning, emphasizing interdisciplinary integration and management skill development. He advised students aspiring to pursue postgraduate studies abroad to define their goals early, leverage university resources such as faculty and alumni networks, and strengthen both their language skills and overall competitiveness to secure admission to top global universities.

In September, LIN Yincheng will represent the THEM programme at the 2025 Zhuhai-Macao-Hengqin vocational skills and ' Shenhe Cup' hospitality competitions. Jointly organized by authorities from Zhuhai, Macao, and the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao Deep Cooperation Zone, this event is a major platform for promoting skilled talent development in the region. THEM has co-organized the event since last year. Students from the programme reached the semi-finals in the previous competition, demonstrating solid professional knowledge and practical capabilities. The programme encourages all students to participate this year to gain experience, sharpen their skills, and strive for excellence.
